Dr. Stan Guffey, Course Director

Graham Reynolds, Teaching Assistant
I am a 3rd year PhD student in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, with plans to graduate in 2011. My dissertation research focuses on conservation genetics and theoretical population genetics. I currently work in the Turks and Caicos Islands south of the Bahamas, where I study Boas and Curly-tailed Lizards. In particular, I study extinction and recolonization of island reptiles, and also work with local groups to promote conservation.
I obtained a B.A. in Biology from Duke University in 2004, where I studied Poison Dart Frogs in Panama for my honors thesis. I’m originally from Asheville, North Carolina, but I have recently lived in California and Costa Rica. This is my second summer teaching Governor’s School, and I look forward to a great summer!
